It Is Thought That Because Hessian Soldiers, Who Fought Aginst The Colonist During The American Revolution, where so disliked that the Americans Enjoyed Burning them in effigy in their fireplaces. Very solid and well made these andirons are used, rust covered and ready for a couple more centuries of service. See photos their part of the description.
